What to Pack for a Tropical Vacation

Palm trees? 80 degree weather? Ocean and beaches? Endless water slides? I’m down. I just wrapped up a vacation in the Bahamas where I stayed at the Atlantis Hotel in Paradise Island. It was my first time traveling out of the country (besides Canada, but that was like 12 years ago and doesn’t really count lol). Here’s a list of some things I brought that I thought were absolutely necessary to make a fashion statement.

  • Bathing suits - I probably packed around ten different swim suits, all of various colors and styles. A few one pieces, but LOTS of cheeky bikinis. The picture below features the “Waterproof Blush One Piece” that I wore. More swimmies are also sold online under the tab called “SWIM.”

  • Bali Body - Lately, I have been LOVING the brand Bali Body that I discovered on Instagram back in 2017. Their products are vegan, all natural and smell like summer! I brought their Watermelon Tanning Oil and applied it every day before I went into the sun. I wore Sun Bum spf 30 sunscreen underneath it, just to give my skin some extra protection. They also sell a correcting face cream that I would really like to try!

  • Rompers - Some of my favorites from this trip were the I'm Just a Summer Girl Romper (available online and pictured below) and the Teal Crochet Romper! (also available online). These two were perfect to just throw on along with some makeup and head into downtown Nassau to explore all the touristy places!

  • Shorts and Body Suits - This was probably the most convenient thing to bring! Especially if you're just running to lunch or need something simple and easy to throw on after a day at the beach. I brought lots of high waisted jean shorts and a couple staple body suits in black and white. My favorite place to buy these items from is Forever 21! I stopped by a Forever 21 right before my trip and stocked up on cute acid washed shorts and crop tops. Each piece was around $5-$16 and you can mix n match all the basics!

Make sure you stuff your suitcases FULL of all the essentials you might need! Most airlines allow one persona item and one carry on item so you don't have to check your luggage. The Bahamas was absolutely the trip of a lifetime and I can't wait to pack up and leave for another tropical country soon! xx
